About the World Islamic Economic Forum Foundation

The World Islamic Economic Forum Foundation was established by the Asian Strategy & Leadership Institute (ASLI) as the lead organizer of the World Islamic Economic Forum, to institutionalize The World Islamic Economic Forum. The Foundation seeks to promote business partnerships and economic cooperation among Muslim entrepreneurs and companies within and beyond the OIC member countries as well as to promote understanding and dialogues between Muslim and non-Muslims.

The World Islamic Economic Forum seeks to bring together Government and Business Leaders as well as eminent thinkers to discuss ideas, brainstorm issues and develop solutions for the betterment of the world in general and the Muslim business community in particular. The Foundation will organize a variety of programmes such as Fora, Roundtables and Seminars and carry out research studies.

The World Islamic Economic Forum Foundation was established in March 2006. It is an independent not-for-profit organization that provides suitable platform for the best minds to exchange ideas and opinions of concern to both government and business. The WIEF Foundation will administer and organize the annual series of the World Islamic Economic Forum and other related programmes aimed at fostering partnerships among Muslim businessmen as well as dialogues and understanding between Muslim and non-Muslims, which will contribute towards world peace and prosperity.

Foundation Objectives

The objectives for the formation of the World Islamic Economic Forum Foundation are:

  1. To organize annually the World Islamic Economic Forum and other regional meetings associated with the World Islamic Economic Forum
  2. To promote dialogue and foster cooperation among the Muslim business community within OIC member countries and Muslim businessmen residing in non-OIC countries
  3. To promote dialogues and business partnerships between Muslim entrepreneurs and non-Muslim businessmen
  4. To strengthen networking and seek strategic alliances through the exchange of ideas, information and knowledge
  5. To forge viable business partnerships and promote dialogues and interchanges, both within Malaysia and overseas
  6. To identify and promote investments and infrastructure development projects in OIC countries and Muslim communities worldwide with special emphasis on less developed countries and communities
  7. To establish a World Islamic Businesswomen Network to facilitate exchanges and information sharing in order to promote business and investment opportunities for Muslim businesswomen
  8. To establish a trust fund or programmes which promote scholarship and knowledge, giving special emphasis on science, information and communication technology and vocational training in the Muslim world
